This June, Oscar Salvador will be stepping into the ring for a charity boxing match as part of Griffins Boxing + Fitness Knockout for a Cause event, fighting in support of Harvest Project.
After rupturing his Achilles, Oscar was sidelined from the sport he loved most: basketball. Rehab was long and challenging, but about seven months in, he found that boxing at Griffins was a great way to stay active, focused, and resilient. What began as recovery quickly became a new passion.
Growing up in Chiapas, Mexico, Oscar saw firsthand the very real impacts of poverty on individuals and families and how easily circumstances can change when support is missing. That experience shaped his desire to give back and is why the work of Harvest Project resonates so deeply with him.
Each fighter is raising a minimum of $2,000. The first fundraising deadline is April 15, 2025. Oscar needs to raise $1,500 by then to contend for a match-up. Thank you, Oscar, and good luck in the ring!
