Homelessness Action Week, Personal Hygiene Kit Information

Homelessness Action Week October 12-19, 2008

Join the North Shore Shelter and Harvest Project to tackle homelessness on the North Shore. During October we ask your help in producing Personal Hygiene kits for needy individuals in our community.

When you are living on the street you don’t have access to any personal amenities to keep yourself clean, clothed and fed. Those basic items that we take for granted become a luxury for many. Here is a list of items that our North Shore Outreach Workers feel would be most useful.

Please package these items in a large clear freezer bag:

  • Trial sizes of: Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Lip balm
  • Comb or brush
  • Nail clippers
  • Small hand towel
  • Hand wipes or Hand sanitizer
  • Band-Aids
  • Antibiotic cream
  • Can opener
  • Spoon
  • Sewing kit (for small repairs)
  • Socks
  • Rain poncho
  • Bus tickets (for transportation to an appointment)
  • Food voucher ($10 Safeway or Save-on-Foods card can buy a few lunches or dinner)

Please drop off your freezer bag of products at the Lookout Shelter anytime Mon. to Sun. or Harvest Project from 10am to 4pm Tues. to Fri. or Sat.10am to 2pm. Both locations are at 2nd Ave. and Bewicke Ave. North Vancouver.
